BIOGRAPHY
Nice to meet you — I’m Giada Vicenzi!
I was born in 1990 in Milan, a city I love for its perfect balance of tradition and innovation. I grew up with two parents with a deep passion for good food, culture, and laughter, carrying a heritage filled with stories, flavours, and values. My mother is from Reggio Emilia, a land of warm and welcoming people. At the same time, my father hails from Mantua, a city rich in history and legends, home to the noble Gonzaga family. Thanks to my family’s Lombard, Emilian, and Tuscan influences, I learned to laugh wholeheartedly, appreciate fine cuisine, and love ancient history.
My passion for writing began when I was a child. As the daughter of Italian literature and grammar teachers, who are also writers, I quickly realised that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” I’ve been writing since I was seven and have never stopped. I primarily express myself through poetry, some of which you can find on my Instagram profile.
I feel deeply connected to art in all its forms. I love reading, painting, photography, and letting music carry me away.
My favourite novel? Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.
My favourite film? All About Eve (1950) is a black-and-white masterpiece directed by J.L. Mankiewicz.
Music? Coltrane, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, and our unforgettable Fabrizio De André. I’m enchanted by tribal and folk music, and I can’t resist a guitar solo by Brian May.
Painting? Impressionism is the art movement that resonates most with my soul.
Photography? The masterpieces of Sebastião Salgado and Steve McCurry inspire me.
Nature is my sanctuary. I love walking through the woods, breathing in the earth's scents, and connecting with its energy. Animals are an integral part of my life: I respect them deeply and care for them with love.
On my Instagram profile, I share everything that resonates with my soul: art, nature, emotions, and fragments of my daily life.

THE INSPIRATION
Since childhood, reading and writing have been my trusted companions and closest friends. I discovered their charm thanks to William Shakespeare, the English poet, writer, and playwright, whose passion and energy ignited my love for words and written art. Perhaps that’s why I tend to favour poetry or rhyming stories when I write for pleasure.
I wrote my first story at the age of seven. By then, I had written my second, which earned me First Prize in Creative Writing at a competition organised by the Lombardy Region.
At thirteen, I entered again with a short story and once more won First Prize in the Young Emerging Writers competition organised by the Lombardy Region.
I cheerfully and sarcastically mock impostor syndrome—a very real condition.
Why joke about it? Because, for a time, I genuinely believed I was an impostor. Then, I realised I had been neglecting a fundamental part of myself: my artistic intuition. And from that moment, I found my authentic voice. That’s when I was reborn.
That’s when your Impostor Editor was born.
In 2020, I realised I could make a living from writing. Since then, I’ve never looked back.
I love experimenting with different styles and techniques. New challenges and projects don’t scare me: I approach them confidently and creatively, always striving to create something fresh and original.
My secret weapon? My creative intuition.
THE IMPOSTOR SYNDROME
The impostor syndrome (or also impostor phenomenon ) is a term coined in 1978 by the psychologists Pauline Clance and Suzanne Imes to describe a psychological condition prevalent among successful people, characterized by the inability to internalize their successes and by the persistent fear of being exposed to as "impostors". Despite outward demonstrations of their skills, people affected by this syndrome remain convinced that they do not deserve the success they have achieved. It is typically traced back to factors such as luck or timing or the result of deception or overestimating others. According to the original study, impostor syndrome is prevalent among successful women.

If your child wants to be a writer or poet, strongly advise against it.
If he continues, threaten to disinherit him. Beyond these tests, if he resists, thank God for giving you an inspired child, different from the others.
